The Catholic Girls Arise donates to physically challenged people

The Catholic Girls Arise (an Online Social group) has recently conducted a benevolent work by donating two wheel chairs and assorted items to two physically challenged people at Ulongwe Parish- in the Diocese of Mangochi

The donations to Sharif Sungawana and Dagarous Matias from Mmania Village T/A Kalembo, Balaka district, was funded by members of the group as a response to their need to put their faith in action.

Speaking in an interview after the handover ceremony, the Chaplain for the group Fr Chris Sichinga commended the Catholic Girls Arise members for putting their faith in action.

“Am impressed with all the members who contributed towards this development, they have shown love through a life changing action, this means that they are managing to live what the Catholic Church teaches” said Fr. Sichinga

Sister Theresa Mulenga one of the group members who carry advisory role said it is very important for Christians to share what God has blessed them with as one way of acknowledging him for his plentiful blessings upon them.

“When God blesses us with things, it is always important to thank him by sharing with those who are less fortunate. During Lenten season we suggested to carry out charity work, as a group we agreed to purchase two wheel chairs, blankets, soap and food items and we managed to source Funds for this charity work locally through small contributions from the group members and other well-wishers. We are happy we managed to help others with the little things we had,” said Sr Mulenga

The guardians for the beneficiaries expressed their joy and heartfelt gratitude to the Catholic Girls Arise members for their willingness to share the little they have with the needy.

Catholic girls arise is a social online youth movement which started in November 2020. It was born after Mangochi diocesan youth chaplaincy organized an online girls conference through Whatsap platform. Currently, the group has over 180 registered members (from all over Malawi) who have made a choice to live their life boldly, love their Catholic faith and who are geared at changing the world.
