In his remarks, the Vice chancellor of the university, Reverend Fr. Dr. George Buleya said the new campus will not replicate programs offered at the main campus in Nguludi but will explore and offer other programs aligned to the needs of the modern world.
The new campus under the patronage of Thomas Moore, will provide a convenient place for learning and provide an opportunity to youths and all people to access higher education.
The construction of the new campus has also been necessitated by the increase of students learning at CU’s Satellite center at a rented place at Msamba Pastoral center.
The first phase of the construction has been pegged at K1.5 billion. The new university is expected to be fully functional by the year 2024.
