The Episcopal Conference of Malawi, the umbrella body of the Catholic Bishops in Malawi, will be holding its third Annual Plenary Meeting from 24th September, to Friday, 28th September, 2012.
This plenary will be held at the Catholic Secretariat in Lilongwe and will be attended by all the Catholic Bishops in Malawi and the Vatican Chargé d’Affaires for Malawi, Very Reverend Monsignor Hubertus Van Megen.
The Bishop of Mzuzu Diocese who is the President of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) will lead the plenary.
The Apostolic Nuncio for Malawi and Zambia, Most Rev. Julio Murat will attend the annual plenary assembly of Bishops and will on Tuesday 25th September preside over mass at Maula Cathedral starting from 5.30 pm.
Also in attendance on Friday the 28th September will be the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), Cardinal Edgar Theodore McCarrick and Mr. Fritz Zuger both from the United States of America.
The Secretary General Rev. Fr. George Buleya has called on all Christian faithful to pray for the success of the Episcopal meeting and to attend the mass at the cathedral on Tuesday.
