On Sunday the 8th October, 2023, Hi Lordship, Bishop Alfred Chaima of Zomba, met the aspirants to Diocesan priesthood who will be going to St Anthony Kachebere Major Seminary and those who will be joining the Spiritual Formation Centres at Katsina in Dedza and Christ the King in Rumphi. The aim of the meeting was to know them and to encourage them as they start to respond to God’s call as Seminarians and later as priests in the Catholic Church.
“I had the opportunity to encourage them to take every step on the way seriously and to pray and ask for God’s enlightenment and guidance. Moreover, I advised them to take every step seriously and to be exemplary realizing that the call God is giving them is special, noble and holy”.
During the meeting, The Bishop of Zomba also stressed the need for the Seminarians to take their studies seriously and to desist from any behaviours that are antithetical to their calling. “I encouraged them to be involved and active in Church groups in their respective Parishes and to well be available and close to their priests”.
The Diocese of Zomba has four boys joining Kachebere Seminary this year and 16 young people joining the Spiritual Formation Houses in Rumphi and Kasina.
