As the days are drawing closer to the much anticipate Association of Member Episcopal Conference of Eastern Africa (AMECEA) in Malawi, a cross-section of delegates from various member countries have started arriving in the Capital Lilongwe.
First to arrive so far is a team of AMECEA secretariat which comprises of Fr. Jude Waweru (CCJP Coordinator),Fr. Chrisantus Ndaga (Social Communications Coordinator),Fr. Febian Pikiti ,Fr. Ferdinand Lugonzo (Secretary General),Sr. Slipher Akoth and Sr. Annie Muiruri.
They all arrived on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 through Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe.
A team of Executive Board Members chaired by Malawi’s Archbishop, Most Rev. Tarcisio Ziyaye of Lilongwe Archdioce will arrive on July, 14, 2014.
“On this particular day, Executive Members like His Eminence John Cardinal Njue (Kenya), Bishop Emmanuel Obbo (Uganda),Bishop Isaac Amani (Tanzania),Bishop Medhin Tesfaselassie (Etheopia),Bishop Kidane Yebio (Eritrea),Bishop Philip Anyolo (Kenya) and lay persons like Ms. Wakibiru Wanjiru,Mrs Pamela Makori and Ms. Christine Mbugi all from Kenya”.
The majority of other delegates will arrive on July 15th and 16.
On July 17,there will be a Holy Mass at Civo Stadium to be presided by His Eminence John Cardinal Njue.
During the Holy Mass,the first reading will come from Isaiah 2:1-5,Second reading from 1 Timothy 2:1-8 and the Gospel will come from Matthew 28:16-20.
The closing Mass is scheduled to take place at Maula Cathedral on July 26,2014.Both the opening and closing Masses are open to all Christians.
300 delegates are expected to attend the plenary
