Pope Francis has appointed Bishop Yohane Suzgo Nyirenda as the new ordinary of Mzuzu diocese, succeeding Bishop John Ryan whose request to retire has been accepted by the pontiff.
The Malawi Conference of Catholic Bishops has announced that Bishop Nyirenda will be installed ordinary of Mzuzu diocese on Saturday, 3rd May 2025 at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Mzuzu by the apostolic nuncio of Malawi and Zambia H.E Most Reverend Gian Luca Peric.
