ECM INTRODUCES NEWLY APPOINTED BISHOPS TO THE STATE PRESIDENT

The Episcopal Conference of Malawi through its Permanent Council led by its President Most Rev George Desmond Tambala presented and introduced to the Head of State, Dr Lazarus Mccarthy Chakwera, Auxiliary bishop elect for Mzuzu Diocese Very Rev Fr Yohane Suzgo Nyirenda and Bishop elect Very Rev Fr  Dr. Alfred Mateyu Chaima.

The Episcopal Conference of Malawi took advantage of the occasion to invite the President to the consecration ceremonies of the two on 5th August 2023 at Mzuzu Stadium and 12th August 2023 at Zomba Secondary school ground respectively.

The State President Dr Lazarus Mccarthy Chakwera, expressed gratitude for the gesture and for the invitation to the two events. He also thanked the Holy Father, His Holiness Pope Francis, for appointing the new shepherds to tend his flock.

Very Rev Bishop elect Nyirenda was appointed by the Holy Father in May 5th this year while Very Rev Fr Alfred Mateyu appointed and announced by the Holy See on 5th June this year.
